Why attend WSMRF?

What is WSMRF?
The Western Students and Resident Medical Research Forum is designed with a special focus on medical students and residents. Our goal is to provide learners an opportunity to demonstrate ownership of their medical research via presentation and defense of their research in a formal yet relaxing environment where they can be supported by faculty and fellow residents and students.  We believe WSMRF provides a unique opportunity for learners to explore the world of medical research and academia - inspiring the next generation of physician-scientists.

Statistics from WSMRF 2018:
  • 481 medical students from over 16 medical schools gave 413 oral presentations and 68 poster presentations
  • All abstracts published in The Journal of Investigative Medicine
  • 98% of attendees indicated that they would suggest this conference to future medical students
  • 84% of attendees indicated that their interest in medical research increased as a result of attending WSMRF
  • 17% of students indicated that they had met a potential mentor for future residency and research
